New Mansoura Water Desalination Plant
The plant is the first desalination plant for drinking water in the Delta region and will supply the entire city of New Mansoura with potable water in the future. The city aims to settle 700,000 citizens after the completion of its construction, as the construction of the station began on June 1, 2019, and completed within 18 months. The plant is built on an area of 24 acres and has a production capacity of 160,000 cubic meters per day, at a cost of one billion and 400 million EGP. The plant operates with a final treatment system “calcite filters” and a carbon dioxide injection system, to treat water according to the standard specifications of the Ministry of Health to maintain water quality and conformity to the World Health Organization.
