The Greater Cairo Metro
The ‘Greater Cairo Metro’ is the first underground in Africa and the Arab World, it is considered among the most technologically advanced mass transit system in the world which participate in facilitating the traffic and reducing the roads’ accidents. The Greater Cairo Metro Lines divided into the following lines:
The First Line “Line 1”
The Second Line “Line 2”
The Third Line “Line 3”
The Fourth line “Line 4”
Our scope for this project is mainly considered in the Third Line “Line 3” which extends from Cairo Airport station to Embaba station and has three interchange station Gamal Abdel Nasser station connecting Line 1 and Line 3, Ataba station connecting Line 2 and Line 3, and Cairo University station connecting Line 2 and Line 3. Also another scope in the Fourth Line “Line 4”.
Our mission in this project is to provide some of our testing services with a full interpretation consultancy services, the following are these testing services:
One of the most important difficulties we have encountered in the third line project is located in Cairo University Station which related to a full scale static pile load test up to 3720 tons using ground anchors system instead of kentledge blocks due to the field difficulties and infrastructure works existed on this site, this test is considered a new milestone for A GREAT MONO-PILE LOAD TEST USING GROUND ANCHORS.
