Aswan Tank Alternative Axis
The importance of this development axis is in contributing to the transfer of traffic from the reservoir body to the new axis to maintain the reservoir and extend its life span, in addition to creating new development areas west of the Nile and linking residential areas and industrial and agricultural development areas east and west of the Nile together, creating a large number of job opportunities and facilitating Movement of citizens and the service of development projects. The axis will extend to the west to connect with the Aswan train station for the Light Rail Transit (LRT), while raising the efficiency of the road linking east of the axis and linking to the Aswan Baranis Road. The axis also links the road linking the Aswan-Baranis road to the western desert road (Cairo – Aswan) crossing the Nile River and the western agricultural road (Cairo – Aswan) and the link on the Aswan/Abu Simbel road. Its length is 5.4 km and its width is 29 meters. It has three traffic lanes in each direction. The axis includes 2 bridges and 1 tunnel.
